Modal is a regenerated cellulosic fibre usually made from beech wood. It is exceptionally soft, smooth and breathable, absorbs moisture well and remains comfortable against the skin. Compared with traditional viscose, modal is generally stronger and keeps its softness and shape better during wear and washing. It can wrinkle, but usually less easily than viscose.
